The Australian cotton industry is looking to the future through explicit research focusing on what impact climate change and extreme weather events will have on cotton production, and seeking to understand how we can adapt to environmental changes.

NSW DPI’s Dr Lisa Bird is starting a new project on insecticide resistance to focus on pests where and when needed. Resistance surveillance will continue to provide industry with evidence-based resistance frequency data and testing will be prioritised for pests and insecticides identified as emerging issues for industry.

As part of this week's International Cotton Advisory Committee plenary meeting in Brisbane, CRDC, CottonInfo and CSD hosted 50 delegates from 14 countries on a tour of the Darling Downs.
