The winter 2021 edition of CRDC's magazine, Spotlight, has just been published, with a focus on 'innovation'.

Applications are now open for the Nuffield Australian Scholarships, supported by CRDC and Cotton Australia. Each scholarship is valued at $30,000 and Nuffield Australia will award up to 20 scholarship for the 2022 year, including one supported by CRDC and Cotton Australia for the Australian cotton industry.

The 2021 cohort of the Australian Future Cotton Leaders Program came together in Armidale NSW this week for their first face-to-face meeting. The Future Cotton Leaders Program is funded by Cotton Australia and CRDC, and is aimed at emerging leaders across the cotton industry.

Last week CRDC's Board met for their first face-to-face meeting since the appointment of our new Directors in October 2020.

Today is International Women's Day: recognising and celebrating the contribution of women to the Australian cotton industry. Women play a critical role in our industry - within CRDC alone, women account for 70 per cent of our team.

Cotton biologist Demi Sargent was today announced as the CRDC-supported ABARES Science and Innovation Award winner for 2021, with a project that could help shield the cotton industry from the effects of climate change.
