IT Manager

Lead the IT operations

Reporting to the General Manager, Business and Finance, the IT Manager will foster a culture of advanced technology adoption within CRDC. Importantly, this role is both hands on and strategic. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing the digital systems and IT contractors, and looking to the future of how CRDC uses technology and data to grow performance and minimise risk. You will provide guidance to the CRDC Innovation Brokers on appropriateness of IT solutions recommended in research projects and digital services to the Australian cotton industry.

Importantly, you will drive an efficient, effective and secure IT environment that supports CRDC’s agile and remote working team.

Through effective listening, collaboration, and communication with the business you will be responsible for: 

  • managing an effective and reliable IT system
  • managing cyber-security
  • fostering a culture of advanced technology adoption
  • planning IT and data system upgrades
  • manage day to day administration, maintenance of data systems
  • evaluating software and hardware procurement recommendations
  • providing or procuring IT systems training for the CRDC team

CRDC is looking for an IT Manager with:

  • the ability to engage with and upskill the CRDC team
  • extensive experience in managing and operating information technology and data systems
  • strong cyber security experience complimented with systems maintenance and support
  • relevant Tertiary qualifications
  • experience in managing contracted service providers
  • experience in managing Microsoft 365 cloud plus on-premise virtual server environment and backups
  • ability to manage and program database software (e.g. PowerBI)
  • ability to manage web servers
